Apple has just announced the new MagSafe Battery for the iPhone 12. We can attach an external battery to our iPhone 12 for when we need an extra charge in our iPhone. With a price of 99 USD, the battery can be reserved from today in the Apple Store.
MagSafe Battery Pack for the iPhone 12
After the absence of a Smart Battery Case for the iPhone 12, the case that allowed us to increase the battery capacity of our iPhone, many of us wondered what fate would this familiar case run.
With the arrival of the MagSafe system, which evolves the wireless charging system of the iPhone 12, one possibility, which we have seen in third-party manufacturers, was exactly this: a MagSafe external battery.
MagSafe battery docks like nothing. Its compact and intuitive design allows you to easily charge your device anywhere. And perfectly aligned magnets keep it attached to your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro so charging doesn’t get interrupted.
The MagSafe battery can be recharged even faster when paired with a 27W or higher charger, like the one included with the MacBook. And if you need a wireless charger, just plug in the Lightning cable and you’ll have up to 15W of wireless charging.
MagSafe Battery Charger
The battery itself can be charged by connecting through a Lightning cable. If at the time of charging it is connected to our iPhone, it will also charge.
For maximum charging speed, Apple recommends using a 20-watt USB-C adapter. According to the official images in the Apple store, this battery provides an extra 1450mAh to our iPhone.
The battery can be purchased from the Apple website for $99 and the first units will be delivered on July 19, although the initial interest is already delaying the first orders until July 22.
With this new MagSafe Battery, Apple offers us a simple and elegant system to increase the battery life of our iPhone 12. A system that, in addition, we understand will be compatible with future iPhones, starting with the iPhone 13.
